Frequently Asked Questions

Poor quality of calls: Please check if the volume of the device is adjusted to an acceptable comfortable level.
When the device is used in the areas with poor signal, e.g. near the high buildings or in basements, the call quality may be affected adversely.
When this device is used in a high call intensity period, like the rush hours, call failure may be caused by network congestion;
Standby time is reduced, Standby time is related to the system setting of network, it may be that the phone is used in an area with poor signal. Where there is poor signal, the phone will constantly attempt to communicate by searching for base station signal and battery lose charge quicker, hence the standby time is reduced. 

The device may be outside of the network coverage for the network service provider; to recover the device will need to re-locate to an environment covered by the Network provider.
SIM card is invalid, please contact your network supplier, if the SIM card has recently become invalid the end user needs to contact the Network provider to ascertain why the card is no longer valid and how this can be resolved.
If auto lock function is enabled, please input the phone password before use.
If SIM lock function is enabled for every startup, you must input PIN code.

Check if the pressing on the Startup Key for approx., 3 seconds, if not powering up then place the device on charge as per recommendation earlier in this guide or via the User manual.
If the device does not recover after the charge session, then the next step is to;

Check if the battery contacts are engaging in the device, please take out the battery and check the state of the battery contacts user a dry cloth to clean the contacts, then re-insert and try to restart; 

Please insert SIM card

Make sure you have correctly inserted SIM card. If you have installed it but it cannot be detected, please try clean the contacts of the SIM card by using a dry cloth. If it still is not working, please contact your network carrier.
No service

If you are in an area not covered by your network, or if a physical obstacle is present, such as in an enclosed area, the message “No service” will be displayed on your Standby screen and you will not be able to make or receive calls.
Emergency call only

This can be displayed if either SIM1 or 2 cards are not recognized, or when you are outside your network but inside other network, you can only make emergency call. Check with the Network provider that the SIM card affected is valid.
No Valid SIM card

Your SIM card is locked or it has an error. Please insert the right SIM card or contact your service provider, to discuss the status of the Sim card and options for the end user to validate the SIM card or purchase recommended SIM product.
Enter PUK code

After three consecutive incorrect SIM card PIN code entries, the code is blocked, and you need the PUK code to unblock it. Contact your service provider. After ten consecutive incorrect PUK code entries the SIM card will be permanently disabled. In the case you disable the SIM card following the incorrect input of the PUK code, the end user will need to contact the service provider to buy a new SIM card.

1. From the Home Screen press the Menu button.
2. Move the cursor to Settings using the navigation keys and then press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
3. In this screen select “Call settings” using the Center  navigation key, options in this screen; Dual SIM, Call divert, Call waiting, Call barring, Hide ID and Others.
4. Using the down and Center navigation key to select Call divert, select the affected SIM, there are a number of options; Call forwarding unconditional, Call forwarding on busy, Call forwarding on no response, Divert if unreachable and Cancel all diverts.
5. Select the option that is causing an issue, or cancel all diverts and enable the situation for diverts to be utilized.
If this has been set by the Network, your incoming calls may be diverted to other devices.

During use the device will not make calls for example to International numbers, Check if Call Barring is set:
1. From the Home Screen press the Menu button.
2. Move the cursor to Settings using the navigation keys and then press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
3. In this screen select “Call settings” using the Center  navigation key, options in this screen; Dual SIM, Call divert, Call waiting, Call barring, Hide ID and Others.
4. Using the down and Center navigation key to select “Call barring” select the SIM affected in this screen you have the following options; All outgoing calls, All incoming calls, Incoming calls when roaming, ISD calling, Dial when International (INTL) roaming, Cancel all barring and change password.
5. Select the type of call you are having issues with and change the option by either activating, off or check status. This may have been password protected by the device owner, please check. If this cannot be resolved check with Network provider for any Network implemented preventions.
If this has been set by the Network, you may not be able to make calls or only certain calls are allowed. Recommendation is to address this with the service provider and ascertain what the options available to the end user are.

When the battery has taken a deep discharge and the level is very low, the phone may not turn on in the normal manner. The device should be allowed to charge for approx. 20 -30 minutes and then the “power on” can be re-attempted.


Note Recommendation from the User Guide:

When first taking the phone from the box after purchase, you may find battery holds a small amount of charge and can be used immediately after unpacking. It performs best after three full charge/discharge cycles. Recommendation is to use the phone until battery charge is depleted then charge the battery for at least 12 hours.

1. From the Home Screen press the Menu button.
2. Move the cursor to My files using the navigation keys and then press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
3. At the top of the screen are two icons, the left represents the phone memory, the right icon the memory card. Using the navigation keys scroll to either Phone and/or Memory card press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
4. Taking the Phone option first, select “options” with the left soft key using the down and Center navigation key to select Memory status. Use left soft key to select ok, Options available are: Phone memory capacity, Memory card capacity, Format phone memory, Format Memory card and Rename Memory card.
5. The memory status will be displayed as for example 560k/32.3M, this indicates usage of 560KB of an available 32.3M. For memory cards it will depend on the size of memory card used.

1. From the Home Screen press the Menu button.
2. Move the cursor to Internet using the navigation keys and then press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
3. Select the browser using the navigation keys and the Center navigation key to select Internet service.
4. Once Internet service is selected, on the next screen using the left soft key select “Options”, use the down navigation key to select Settings use the Center navigation key to select.
5. Using the down navigation key to select Clear logs, use the Center navigation key to select, from the options of: History, Cache and Cookies.
6. Navigate to Clear cache and press the Select button, a green tick will appear in the box to delete press the left soft key.
7. Confirm you would like to clear the cache by selecting the OK button.

1. From the Home Screen press the Menu button.
2. Move the cursor to Settings, using the navigation keys and then press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
3. Move the cursor to Connections, using the navigation keys and then press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
4. Keep the cursor on Bluetooth and press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
5. Keep the cursor on Power and press the Center navigation key, “Select button”, to turn Bluetooth On/Off
6. With Bluetooth On selected, the following options are available: Bluetooth visibility, Paired device, Transferring files, Shared folder settings, Device name, Bluetooth file storage and Help

1. From the Home Screen press the Menu button.
2. Move the cursor to Messaging, using the navigation keys and then press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
3. When in message section press left soft key “Options”, on this screen there are 3 options; Settings, Delete all and message capacity.
4. The cursor is over Settings press the Center navigation key.
5. At the top of the screen, SMS can be seen with a sealed envelope icon, using the Right navigation key scroll to the right MMS should now be read at the top of the screen and an open envelope icon is highlighted.
6. This is the MMS settings screen, SIM1 and SIM2 MMS accounts can be seen. In addition are the following options; Receive options, Send options, File storage, Play audio and Restore default.

1. From the Home Screen press the Menu button.
2. Move the cursor to Messaging, using the navigation keys and then press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
3. When in message section press left soft key “Options”, on this screen there are 3 options; Settings, Delete all and message capacity.
4. The cursor is over Settings press the Center navigation key.
5. Keep the cursor on SIM1 message settings and press Center navigation key, STM1 and SIM2 message center can be accessed from this screen, in addition: Message validity period, Status report, Reply path, Save sent messages and Preferred storage.

1. From the Home Screen press the Menu button.
2. Move the cursor to Message using the up navigation key and then press the Select button.
3. Using the down navigation until you reach Email press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
4. The message “Email – Before using email, please set your email account (Requires network connection to set up and use email, it will have normal network charges).
5. Using the left soft key select “Start”, there are 3 options at this point; Customized account, Gmail and Hotmail.
6. In this example we will use the Gmail option, at this point you will need the account details and then input to the phone including the current password.
7. You will need to confirm that the email functionality is enabled with the Network provider.
8. With the cursor on the Email account name XXXX.XXX@gmail.com press the Center navigation key, press once the Center navigation key, this will take you to a new screen the options here are; Write mail, Inbox, Outbox, Sent and Drafts. To write email press the Center navigation key to go to write mail.
9. Press the Center navigation key to edit and enter the Recipient, enter desired email address, or select contact, press to select contact  tick will appear in the box next to the selected contact. Then using left soft key select options and then again select Ok.
10. Using the down navigation key, this highlights the Title text box, press once the Center navigation key this allows you to edit the title type the title of the mail.
11. Using the down navigation key, this highlights the text box, press once the Center navigation key this allows you edit or input the message.
12. Once the message is complete using the left soft key select Options; Send, Add attachment, Save as draft, Exit without sending, Priority, CC/BCC
13. Keep the cursor on Send to and press the Select button.

1. From the Home Screen press the Menu button.
2. Move the cursor to the stings menu, in settings scroll down to “Phone Settings”
3. Scroll down to “Restore factory settings” and select.
4. On the screen will be the request to “Input password”
5. Note: The default password for the B30 is: “1234”

2. Move the cursor to Messaging using the up navigation key and then press the Select button.
3. The cursor is over Write message press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
4. Using the down navigation key to “New MMS” press the Center navigation key, press once the Center navigation key, this will take you to the Recipients screen, press the Center navigation key to go to contacts and select the desired contact, press Center navigation key to select, press left soft key “Options” select OK.
5. Using the down navigation key to “theme” and input the theme of the MMS select OK. Use the down navigation key Type your Text you would like to send (if any) and then press the ok button.
6. Using the down navigation key, select add item (in this example we will use ‘Add picture’) you would like to send and press the Select button.
7. You can also at this point add audio, use the down navigation key, and add similar to selecting a picture.
8. On the Message screen press the Options button.
9. Keep the cursor on Send to and press the Select button.

3. The cursor is over Write message press the Center navigation key, “Select button”.
4. The cursor is over New SMS press the Center navigation key.
5. Select the contact for whom the SMS is intended by pressing Center navigation key, this takes you to contacts list select desired contact press Center navigation key to select, press left soft key “Options” select OK.
6. Using the down navigation key to move to the message section, type the Text you would like to send, using the key pad and then press the Options button.
7. Keep the cursor on Send to and press the Select button.
